THE VIGILANT

    You are a key member of the Vigilant crew. The Vigilant is a corvette-type long range patrol space vessel, that is part of the Solar Defense Forces (SDF). After having been on assignment, patrolling cargo routes, new orders are received that indicate a large shift in purpose for the  SDF. 

Going from a more "law-enforcement" type organization for all Sol citizens, the SDF must now answer the call to war against one of its own colonies. A rogue colonial government on Mars has seized a considerable amount of arms and ships, and is set on taking over the rest of Mars, with the goal of creating a whole new planetary-authoritarian state, and displace (by any means) Earth as the center of power.

As the senior command staff of the SDF comes up with a war plan, the immediate goal of this rogue colony seems to be increasing its influence/hold in the asteroid belt, which is the resource center for the entire solar system. The more they gain, the more we lose. 

For now, the plan is to simply limit their reach for control of the asteroid belt. The SDF is not equipped to conduct a full scale war, but extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. 

Using dogfighting and soldiering skills, it is up to you (and you alone) to successfully execute your assigned missions, each of which are crucial to keeping the fighting away from Earth, while command organizes and executes a plan to end this war in its early stages.
